DBKL Signature Drive on 17th July 2005 Dear All,
To those that attend yesterday’s meeting: Thank you so much for spending a little bit of your time to participate the “Signature Drive” petition for reduction of DBKL Cukai Pintu. :D
Well the turn up was good but not enough to send to our Bukit Jalil MP Datuk Tan Chai Ho. Total Unit @ JDA is 930 and yesterday we only collected 144 signatures which is only 15% of the total units  ……to those that still think RM500+++ for their yearly Cukai Pintu is expensive, please contact your respective Block Reps. before the end of the week.
We, the committee of Persatuan Penduduk Jalil Damai would also seek all to give full support to the Persatuan as till now only 94 members (10% of total units??? What happen to the rest???). We would like to thank to all that have joined and supported us yesterday. Again, thank you so much.
We need more members to support us physically + financially ….. Please inform all your neighbors to participate as a member of Persatuan Penduduk Jalil Damai. The form is with the Block Rep.
RM5 for membership fee & RM10 for yearly fee = total of RM15
We sincerely hope for more volunteers for AJK Persatuan and members of the Persatuan as all of us are working full time.
Please support us as we are doing this on volunteering basis and not about “who we like or dislike” …What count is we are doing the very best to get most of the problems solve for a better living @ Jalil Damai. :D
Thanks.

when I was there on 17th, I've noticed there's only 2 names in the block E's list! my god....
anyhow, I was wondering, there may be 900+ units in JDA, but how many of them are rented??
those people with rented house wouldn't care less I guess..
anyhow, to be more optimistic, we need to make notices again, like the one you all did on the 17th meeting, it did help caught my attention though...
I'm in Block E, I think a piece of A4 paper stating this issue and stick it to our notice board would do the job already, but I'm not sure what to write in it, anyone care to write one for me and send/PM me, I'll print it out and I'll post it on the notice board.
The meeting itself doesn't state the purpose and so on, and I think that's also one of the main reasons why there's less people turning up, we should at least briefly state our objectives/purposes, eh?

as ssh said... a big thank you for the support and encouragement! be that as it may, 15% is NOT a majority. sad to say, the silent community makes up the majority :( then again, that's usually the case anyway...
needless to say, we truly need strength in numbers. nevertheless, we will soldier on...

we are wrapping up the signature drive very soon so for those who have yet to sign up, PLEASE DO SO IMMEDIATELY.
Just a note: apparently the reduction, if any, is NOT across the board and will only benefit those who put in their objection to DBKL.
