FIRE at Block E, 4th Floor on Jun 6, 2005

Seems like it is because of the paint been heated up by direct sunlight and caught fire. :o

i don't think paints are that volatile. it takes a spark to start a fire. but in any event, fire safety measures are gravely inadequate.

i don't see a replacement fire extinguisher

Firstly, thanks meiyee for reporting the matter to Bomba and tws for the photos. It may be a crazy idea or weird to some, but I think it would be good if you guys can keep at least 1 fire extinguisher in your own home for your own safety. I mean, you never know when situation arises like the incident at 4th Floor recently. Afterall, we are staying in a high rise building. So safety is important. It's just a thought only. Anyway, please do update us on the feedback from Bomba if any. Thanks and Have A Great Weekend all...

at the risk of sounding like a salesperson, perhaps it wd be a wise decision 2 invest in a reliable fire prevention kit (extinguisher & smoke alarm). just a thot...

I gave up in uploading the JABATAN BOMBA's letter. I re-cap their letter here instead: PENGADUAN TENTANG KELENGKAPAN PENCEGAHAN PEMBAKARAN DI APARTMENT JALIL DAMAI, BANDAR BUKIT JALIL, KUALA LUMPUR. Merujuk kepada e-mel bertarikh 6 Jun 2005 mengenai perkara di atas. 2. Untuk makluman tuan, siasatan telah dilakukan terhadap aduan berkenaan dan didapati memang wujud bahaya kebakaran. Bahaya kebakaran tersebut adalah seperti berikut: 2.1 Tidak terdapa hos dan nozel pada setiap alir keluar pancur menurun 2.2 Nozel tidak disediakan bagi pemasangan gelung hos di tingkat UG dan LG. 2.3 Semua pintu api di tangga terlindung di bahagian tengah premis tidak tertutup sendiri dan tidak tertutup rapat 3. Oleh itu, Notis Manghapuskan Bahaya Kebakaran telah disampaikan kepada Property Management Office, Jalil Damai Apartment, 2nd Floor, Blok B, Jalil Damai Apartment, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur. 4. Walau bagaimanapun, sukacita dimaklumkan, sistem penggera kebakaran dan sistem semburan air automatik tidak disyaratkan oleh undang-undang bagi bangunan 'apartment'.
