HAVE TO PAY DEPOSIT FOR ACCESS CARD!!
I just found out we have to pay deposit for the access card. YES, OWNERS ALSO HAVE TO PAY DEPOSIT! but WHY?? replacement card have to pay or renters have to pay deposit i can understand but why owners?

everything free pun tak boleh mah. its something that we need to do in order for some system and order to be in place. In condos, its free but its reflected in the management fees. here we need a deposit, which means its refundable. just wonder how much deposit is needed.

i know everything cannot be free.....after collecting the deposit, what is JMC going to do with the money? keep in bank to earn interest? i just dont see the point.

Owners should not be forced to pay a deposit. I live in a YTL run condo. Access cards are provided free to owners. if you lose the card, we have to pay a penalty charge plus the replacement cost. I experience the card was faulty after using it for over a year. they replaced it for free. As for Jalil damai, I can understand that since the access cards are not included in the apartment purchase price, someone has to pay for it. What should have been done : 1. either charge us at cost - no need for deposit. only if we lose the card, then we pay a penalty charge plus replacement cost. or 2. apply sinking fund. each owner gets a set of cards free. extra to be paid separately. why need a deposit? if you are a owner and staying there for the rest of your life, then you will never see your deposit again. the management simply keeps the deposit and earn interest. This is the wrong way of doing things. The JDA must ensure that since deposit is collected,to check whether the interest go back to Jalil Damai maintenance fund/sinking fund or goes to the developer/maintenance management If it goes back to JDA, then, we can reduce the maintenance charge as we are getting income from the interest.
