High TNB Bill Hi
Anyone from Block A encountered high charges in your TNB bill? I have been observing the charges since I moved in last Dec 04...the bill is a bit too high as compared to the actual consumption....
Any idea how and where I can check the meter reading?
That electric control box inside my unit was previously upgraded to higher voltage capacity, will that itself increase the meter reading?

I couldnt make it to the meeting so not aware of the details. Anyway thanks for your info, dc. You sounds like you are present in the meeting ??
I received my water bill yesterday also super duper high! Sigh...will get management to open both meter room and investigate.
Btw, I was informed by the management last week that the water tap of the yard area CANNOT be individually control using that control tap located under the sink in the kitchen area.(my unit is inner corner unit but I would presume the tap location will be almost the same for all)...Not sure if some owners actually encountered this problem. But when I checked that in my unit, it is working. One should hold the key to the water meter room if the control tap is not working so that you can stop the water supply in your unit in case of emergency.
Incident did happened on the vacant unit directly above me whereby water is out of control and the whole unit " flooded".....and water slip through to my ceiling and damage the cornie...now i know developer water proofing ceiling is not really working ya...and that probably caused that unit owner a bomb for his water bill too.
I would suggest you check that three individual control tap in your unit. One for kitchen area and the other two for both bathrooms.

mine works ok. got to know about that when the developer first connected the water supply. taps and cistern were leaking so i had to turn off all three stop valve.
checked the water meter closet. no point holding the key tot he meter closet... u'll also need a key to turn off the water supply.
if incident only happened recently, could be fault of owner otherwise fault would have been detected much earlier.
as for water bill, i believe they state the amount consumed (meter reading). can check with them basis of charges and check against the meter reading.

Hi Miki
I have been paying on average RM60 every month.I guessed that really depend on the manner u use the electrical appliance and of course how many ppl staying in a unit....That is the basis i use to estimate what should be the rate for my unit. My friend at Kent Damansara wt 4 ppl in a unit and almost use all electrical stuff only pay RM30++ a month. If I use that as benchmark...my bill should be nothing more than RM25, my estimate.

How much is your bill? Im staying in Block C...My electricity bill average 77.40 per mth ...Only my husband and myself staying .....One unit of 1.5hp aircond from nite till morning (When Sleep only on lah) and also others electrical appliance lah.......Is it too high ? My husband bising that the tnb bill is high..becos morning no one around only nite time at home. Funny?

It seems like on average our bill all are pretty high. Thanks Daric for the info. I have to check the meter reading against my water and TNB bill, it may not be as at the statement date though but at least a rough guidance. I am just worried the meter is faulty or something.
Have a good weekend people!

The great electricity consumers are the aircons and frost-free fridges. A 1hp ac running for 8 hrs costs about RM1.50, for 1.5hp it should be about RM2.20. A 400 litre frost-free fridge will cost you about RM1.00/day. Plus your other electrical appliances like washing machine and the lights. Don't under estimate the innocent looking ceiling fan. If you keep it running 24hrs, it will cost you about 30sen. So you can estimate for yourself how much electricity you use. I can safely say that even if you have only 1 ac (1 hp), you monthly bill will be at least RM60-RM70.

i'm assuming there is a comparison we are working on. if the meters are defective, that's tnb territory. unlike water, i don't think there's a leakage between the meter and the mains... unless someone's been tapping in between. my meter reading is correct so if it's on the high side, best call tnb to check up on it. :)

I've checked the TNB's rate. its normal.
<200 units usage is $0.218 whereas above >200 units is little higher and subsequently.
It shows the same rate as my previous apt with no facilities.
If you're low users, and your bill is average <$100.00. But with air-cond. installed, daily used kettle, iron, & water heater. I think its normal.
