Yan.. 3G service irrespective whether its from Celcom or Maxis is probably the same. Digi offers Edge cause they dont have the license to operate for 3G. If you want fast connection then go for 3G. The speed for 3G depends on where Maxis or Celcom BTS site is located. The one on the mainroad belongs to Digi therefore thats not a good choice. The one near the TPM with the water tank belongs to Celcom and its currently shared by all 3 operators Digi, Celcom and Maxis. The signal should be ok here but if there are many 3G users at the same time then your throughput will be slower. But if you just want to connect to the internet and not too bothered about this then 3G is a good option because you won't be bogged down by cables. 3G system is a wireless system and wireless systems are based on shared resources. You need to understand this therefore when there are many users using the same resource, that means u get a smaller piece of the bandwidth. It also depends of the quality of the signal. If the signal that you receive is low .. say at -85dBm then you may not get a good speed even though you see full bar on your phone. But if you are a user that really need speed due to gaming reasons and also to download stuff i.e. movies, etc from Kazaa, Torrent then a wired broadband is still the best choice because you get the direct line to the ADSL switch. The decision is up to you entirely and largely based upon the application that you are wanting to use. If Gaming is the main reason then you need wired broadband such as TMNet Streamyx because online gaming uses extensive bandwidth and wireless broadband cannot guarantee a stable bandwidth that you may require. Hope that helps. Cheers

hi yan, i agree with aaronfs, 3G is quite ok for normal usage..i use it at times...for gaming its not that good.

Thanks Aaronfs and SF. :) Is this mean is ok for me to sign up for the Maxis 3G wireless broadband package? Becoz i gone to the Maxis counter to check but they cant confirm with me that whether Jalil Damai Apartment is under their 3G wireless broadband coverage that why make me confuse. :? Presently i am using digi broadband and using bluetooth handphone to online but very very slow. I normally online to check mail, search net , internet banking, chating with friend and sometime watching movie never use for gaming.

Digi broadband uses EDGE technology. The max u can get is 384kbps provided you get all 4 timeslots to yourself but since this is wireless technology, it is therefore shared among others. Maxis site is at TPM at the water tank. Your coverage should be ok but it may affect your throughput.

sounds good my friend but this "operator" is a last mile operator. the ISP still goes thru Telekom or Jaring. Even jaring is on TM leased line. the pool is still controlled by TM
