03-04-2008: Another Bursa reprimand for Ho Hup

KUALA LUMPUR: Construction firm Ho Hup Construction Company Bhd has been reprimanded by Bursa Malaysia Securities for releasing a quarterly report without having it reviewed by external auditors.

Bursa Securities had directed the company on October 5th last year to ensure its next four quarterly reports were reviewed by an external auditor prior to being made public. However, on February 29th this year, Ho Hup announced the third quarterly report for the period ended September 30 2007 after three-month delay and without ensuring the report was reviewed by external auditors.

This led to Ho Hup breaching paragraph 2.19 of Bursa’s listing requirements, Ho Hup said in a Bursa filing yesterday. Paragraph 2.19 states the exchange “may, from time to time, issue any instruction or directive to or impose any condition on an applicant, a listed issuer, a management company, a trustee, its directors, officers, employees, advisers or any other person to whom these requirements are directed”.

The required party must comply with the instruction, directive or condition within a time specified by Bursa Securities.

“Bursa Securities views the above contravention seriously and hereby cautions the company and its board of directors on their responsibility to maintain appropriate standards of corporate responsibility and accountability in order to achieve greater disclosure and transparency to the shareholders and the investing public,” Bursa Securities said in a related statement on its website.

The reprimand is not the first for Ho Hup, which was reprimanded last December for failure to issue the first quarterly report for the financial period ended March 31 2007, its 2006 annual report and annual audited accounts for FY06 on time.

The company was also reprimanded and fined RM21,000 in July 2006 for failing to issue its annual audited accounts for its financial year ended Dec 31, 2005, within the stipulated time frame.

kasihan jiran-jiran kita sebelah jalil sutera yang pembinaan rumah mereka terbengkalai. bukan murah pun....... dan sekarang bjd tarak dapat duit penyelenggaraan kita

its strange how they still get away for doing nothing to the jalil sutera development....poor ppl pay so much still get no house. go get the directors lor....

dah lama gua tada nampak apa apa perubahan. cat setengah bangunan je. tada pekerja langsung. kali terakhir gua nampak dia orang buat kerja bila kita punya management buat operasi kutip wang....... Laughing
